MODELS NEEDED FOR HIGH-PROFILE PUBLISHING PROJECT

Noted fine art and fashion photographer SEAN HUSVAR is currently seeking models for a series of seven photo shoots, with the resulting images intended for inclusion in Sean’s upcoming book. Thematically, the photo shoots aim to play with the imagery of pop culture iconography. We are developing a significant casting pool, as each image in the series will require 2 to 3 models. More details about the specifics of each shoot will be released to the talent selected for each specific production.

All models are expected to be young, fit, and of above-average height. All talent is expected to have previous modeling or acting experience.

The shoots will take place in the Buffalo, New York area and are tentatively set to begin around the third week of April and end around the second week of May.

Please respond with interest to sean@husvar.com with “CASTING CALL: Publishing Project Model” in the subject line. Include the following information in your e-mail:

• Full Legal Name
• Age (Documentation will be checked)

All models involved in the project will receive images for their portfolios after the release of the book project in lieu of monetary compensation. We will contact booking coordinators of agency-represented models regarding booking fees upon receipt of your submissions. The reimbursement of travel expenses will be negotiated upon selection.

WORK ON A HIGH-PROFILE PHOTOGRAPHY/PUBLISHING PROJECT

Noted fine art and fashion photographer SEAN HUSVAR is currently seeking interns to work with his staff on high-profile large-scale publishing project, including:

• The re-branding and promotion of HUSVAR PHOTOGRAPHY.
• A series of seven photo shoots that aim to thematically play with the imagery of pop culture iconography.
• Sean’s upcoming book, which is to include images from these shoots.

Of course, artistic projects of this style and scale are very rare in Buffalo and Western New York. But this undertaking is also a great behind-the-scenes opportunity. You will work and learn in an environment where the aesthetics of art go hand-in-hand with the business of art in the planning, targeting, and monetizing of a successful artistic venture.

WHO WE WANT & NEED

We are looking for a variety of people in (or interested in) the Arts—Photography, Film, Theater, Creative Writing, Set, Production, and Design—as well as people in (or interested in) Art Business—Communications, Marketing, Promotion, Gallery and Artist Management, and Administration.

Skills desired include basic computer skills, Mac and PC proficiency, and knowledge of the internet and the major social networking sites. Graphic design skills and knowledge/experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are considered a plus.

While experience helps, what we really need are hard-working, dedicated, flexible team players—people that have a passion for their work AND take direction well—people that want to see the project in which they have invested themselves reach fruition.

Each intern will be managed by one of our four primary staff members—Director of Production, Director of Marketing, Director of Web Strategy, and Director of Public Relations. Each staff member is looking to fill 1 to 2 intern positions per project.

WHEN WE WANT/NEED YOU

Phase One of this project begins April 1 and ends September 1. Internships will be awarded for 2 to 3 month periods over the next three years to coincide with other upcoming projects. Our preference is for selected interns to see a project through to the end, or at least until individual shoots are completed. In this way, our team gets the most consistent assistance possible, while the interns get the fullest possible experience by working from the planning stages all the way through the launch.

Interns will be expected to work at least 16 hours per week, with more hours potentially needed during production days. The schedule for completing those hours will be as flexible as possible to accommodate other necessary class and work schedules. Though most of the work will be performed at the studio downtown or on location, some of the work may be performed at home.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Aside from the usual “this will look GREAT on your resume!”—which it WILL—here is what we offer our interns:

• Selected interns will receive a weekly stipend for their service ($TBD), in addition to reimbursement for parking.
• Opportunities may arise to travel to NYC or other locations for photo shoots.
• You will be invited to attend the launch party (dinner included) celebrating the launch of each series in which you participated.
• Some interns and/or intern positions could potentially convert to staff at the end of the internship.

APPLICATIONS

To apply for an internship, please send your resume and a brief cover letter describing your related experience to sean@husvar.com with “CASTING CALL: Publishing Project Intern” in the subject line. We will begin interviewing prospective applicants very soon in order to begin the first internships on April 1.
